Life gets more screwy as we go back in time,
And then we stop our talking and begin to rhyme,
The lines between reality and imagination are blurred.
The sun and the moon, the sky and the rain,
I can't feel the sadness, the hurt or the pain,
A pebble has been thrown into the lake, the water has been stirred.
I was sitting under the shade of a tree on a Sunday afternoon,
I didn't realize that now would turn into then pretty soon.
A flash of light, a blast of air, could almost see the timeline fold,
And suddenly I was looking at me, 23 years old.
I didn't pass out or go into shock, but I was pretty dang surprised,
It's not everyday you see a time traveler or a pig up in the skies.
He said we have to go, I said I know, and then he grabbed my wrist,
And then I kissed the ground goodbye, as I flew up into the sky,
Which opened up to reveal a deep abyss of rainbow colors and happiness that made me feel like I was just on drugs,
And then these bugs made out of gold flew around me and I was told that we would be arriving in T-minus three.
I asked him how much time had passed since we went into the sky,
He said I couldn't explain that to you even if I wanted to try.
Time travel and other things like that aren't that easy to understand,
If your head went into the clouds thinking about that, you'd probably never land.
