Survive 03:37
The world is screwed up, I'm just following the trend. I don't want to break, so I'm trying to bend. It's hard enough to keep myself alive, but I know I will survive. I sit in the shadows of my past and look towards the future, The present is here but it won't last, it's already gone. This pathetic excuse for an existence has me thinking 'bout myself, I just can't put up with the resistance, a line has to be drawn. The world is screwed up, I'm just following the trend. I don't want to break, so I'm trying to bend. It's hard enough to keep myself alive, but I know I will survive. I don't know this path, I can't see the trail, I've lost myself again. My life is the hammer, I am the nail, I'm not dead yet, but I'm near. I'm stuck in a dark expanse of space, with nothing anywhere, I can't be found, I can't be traced, my future is now clear. Why does life insist to be this way? Why must we all work if we can play? What did I do wrong, why must I pay? The world is screwed up, I'm just following the trend. I don't want to break, so I'm trying to bend. It's hard enough to keep myself alive, but I know I will survive. The world is screwed up, I'm just following the trend. I don't want to break, so I'm trying to bend. It's hard enough to keep myself alive, but I know I will survive. It's hard enough to keep myself alive, but I know I will survive.

It's an explosive detonation of all life and creation, But I'll still be here waiting after mourning and celebrating, Bruises, scars, decapitation, nothing can stop this elation That I feel right here right now with you.

Back in Time 03:34
Life gets more screwy as we go back in time, And then we stop our talking and begin to rhyme, The lines between reality and imagination are blurred. The sun and the moon, the sky and the rain, I can't feel the sadness, the hurt or the pain, A pebble has been thrown into the lake, the water has been stirred. I was sitting under the shade of a tree on a Sunday afternoon, I didn't realize that now would turn into then pretty soon. A flash of light, a blast of air, could almost see the timeline fold, And suddenly I was looking at me, 23 years old. I didn't pass out or go into shock, but I was pretty dang surprised, It's not everyday you see a time traveler or a pig up in the skies. He said we have to go, I said I know, and then he grabbed my wrist, And then I kissed the ground goodbye, as I flew up into the sky, Which opened up to reveal a deep abyss of rainbow colors and happiness that made me feel like I was just on drugs, And then these bugs made out of gold flew around me and I was told that we would be arriving in T-minus three. I asked him how much time had passed since we went into the sky, He said I couldn't explain that to you even if I wanted to try. Time travel and other things like that aren't that easy to understand, If your head went into the clouds thinking about that, you'd probably never land.

Another Year 03:42
Happy birthday my friend, I hope your joy and happiness never end. Another year older, another year wiser, another year bolder, another year nicer, Happy birthday my friend. You've been in this world now for quite a few years, You've stifled some anger, you've conquered some fears, You've got through some troubles, you've dried up some tears, You've done some cool things, you've impressed all your peers. Enjoy this day, push your sorrows away. Rejoice at your life, just be happy and play. Happy birthday my friend, I hope your joy and happiness never end. Another year older, another year wiser, another year bolder, another year nicer, Happy birthday my friend. As the hours tick by, and the years fly past, I wonder why we celebrate these things if we know they don't last. But then I think of the presents, the family and fun, The bright shining laughter that rivals the sun, Birthdays bring us together, and what more excuse do we need? Happy birthday my friend, I hope your joy and happiness never end. Another year older, another year wiser, another year bolder, another year nicer, Happy birthday my friend.

Darkness 05:14
Why does the darkness find us when we're looking for the light? Why is the longest battle the one we don't want to fight? Why do we try to find the sunlight when all it does is burn? Why do we seek education when we know that we will never learn? Darkness, depression, cruelty, obsession, The world, it collapses, and we all die screaming, Madness, corruption, pain and destruction, We've all burned to ashes, or are we just dreaming it all? Give me a sign that I'm still alive. As we stumble down the mountains, as we struggle up the hills, And the blood flows from the fountains while we drink up all the spills. Our persistence is a virtue, but we're crippled in our fears, You may think they cannot hurt you, but it shows up in your tears. But the world it keeps on spinning, and it's better living than dying anyway, Even if we are not winning, no point in being a poor sport in this game we play. Sometime there is hope, we may even learn to smile, We can all learn how to cope once we've been here for a while. And there's joy and there's laughter that's just 'round the corner, Sometimes we get what we're after instead of hate, scorn, or Some other emotion that makes us feel sad, Our constant devotion to get what we had When we were younger (happiness, happiness, happiness, happiness) may come with success because We can still have joy in our spirits and minds if we try, If we reach out our arms there's no doubt that we can still touch the sky. But the darkness still will find us when we're looking for the light, And it is the longest battle that we will not want to fight, And we'll still try to find the sunlight even though we know it burns, And we'll still seek education even though no one ever learns.

Another day, another hour, another minute, Doesn't really matter, it blends together, Another stormy day, the sound of rain on pavement, It goes pitter patter, don't mind the weather. I sit here inside reading the words I've written, Ballpoint pen in hand, a bunch of gibberish on pages, I've revised time and again but something just isn't fittin', My mind is clouded over, my thoughts all locked in cages. The story of my life, a couple pages ripped out, What did they mean, and where have they gone? Stab the apple with the knife, watch it fall to the floor and roll about, I'm not too keen, but then again, I'm just a pawn (in this game of life). I start to write sideways, make it a little more interesting, Have some fun, break a couple rules, Write with crayons and highlighters, until I find what works I'll just keep on testing, And when I'm done, I watch the fire as it cools. The story of my life, a couple pages not there, What did they say, and where did they go? Stab my sorrow with the knife, yeah it's the truth life's not fair, So seize the day, grab a seat and catch the show. R-E-A-L-I-T-Y A string of letters formed to make a word, used in sentences sometimes. What is happening to my life? A mass of contradictions, every one of which you hate/love. The story of my life, a couple pages missing. The story of my life, a couple pages ripped out, What did they mean, and where have they gone?

I was waltzing through the dark dark forest, making light with a wave of my wand, I stopped to rest by a group of faeries hov'ring by a shining crystal pond. I asked how to get to sky-cloud mountain because I've heard that evil's on the rise, They told me which direction I should go, but to be warned that evil never truly dies. And the mountain cracks open with lightning and fire, And the magical brightness just tends to inspire Every one of us to do something we have not done before. And the people could see it for miles around, And they found that the sound shook the ground and resounded Quite brilliantly, and was strikingly hard to ignore. Save the world, save the human race and everything else, am I up to the task? I ask myself. But even if I can't win, there's no way I can't try, gotta save the world. I watched it seeping out the top of the mountain, it's giant yellow eyes glinting sinisterly, It thought that it could do anything, enslave us all now that it was free. I drew my sword from out of it's sheath, walked up to the top of evil's lair, And as it grinned at me, I shifted my weight, took a great big breath of air, And my sword pierced the beast, as it fell from the sky, I knew evil wasn't dead, but at least I had tried. And the beast disappeared, and the mountain closed up, And the land had been purged of things cruel and corrupt, And joy planted in everyone's hearts and continued to grow. So I put back my blade and I walked to the town, Where I searched in the faces for hints of a frown, For wherever there's sadness or evil, that's where I'll go.
