lyrics

I was waltzing through the dark dark forest, making light with a wave of my wand,
I stopped to rest by a group of faeries hov'ring by a shining crystal pond.
I asked how to get to sky-cloud mountain because I've heard that evil's on the rise,
They told me which direction I should go, but to be warned that evil never truly dies.

And the mountain cracks open with lightning and fire,
And the magical brightness just tends to inspire
Every one of us to do something we have not done before.
And the people could see it for miles around,
And they found that the sound shook the ground and resounded
Quite brilliantly, and was strikingly hard to ignore.

Save the world, save the human race and everything else, am I up to the task?
I ask myself.
But even if I can't win, there's no way I can't try, gotta save the world.

I watched it seeping out the top of the mountain, it's giant yellow eyes glinting sinisterly,
It thought that it could do anything, enslave us all now that it was free.
I drew my sword from out of it's sheath, walked up to the top of evil's lair,
And as it grinned at me, I shifted my weight, took a great big breath of air,

And my sword pierced the beast, as it fell from the sky,
I knew evil wasn't dead, but at least I had tried.

And the beast disappeared, and the mountain closed up,
And the land had been purged of things cruel and corrupt,
And joy planted in everyone's hearts and continued to grow.
So I put back my blade and I walked to the town,
Where I searched in the faces for hints of a frown,
For wherever there's sadness or evil, that's where I'll go.
